BLP composer articles unsourced
editQuestioned
edit- David Cain (composer) Have found one source but there are lots of people with this name. There must be more given his work...
- Eric Ross sources now questioned: see the article's talk page. Indeed, close-paraphrase of one of the "sources"
- John Palmer (composer) not sure if he copied us or if we are copyvioing him...
- Martin Boykan appears to be copied from Boston Modern Orchestra Project website. Verify?
- Pär Lindgren appears to be a close paraphrase of one of the references
- Robert Washburn but article appears to be a close-paraphrase of his own website and has been tagged as such
Failed Verification and PROD/AfD etc

Sourced and verified but still with issues
editWe might want to consider refining the Notability criteria for our project. Most of the unreferenced BLPs that are—or were before cleanup—in this list were difficult to source using the usual techniques. The AfD of Oscar van Dillen was rather telling in this respect: the sources are not immeadiately useful but when placed in context within the article and with each other tell a much fuller story. Note that Kleinzach pointed to the need highlighted here in that AfD. I'll think about how to handle this and report back on the project talkpage. --Jubilee♫clipman 22:01, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
[Articles without obvious issues have been removed from this list entirely]
- Alfio Fazio Done but still orphaned (since 2006); source not great either
- Andreas Kunstein Done but flagged for notability because the article does not establish it and the sources are not great either
- Axel Borup-Jørgensen Done but article only a stub (!)
- Chihchun Chi-sun Lee Done not great but something; the article is still orphaned too.
- Elodie Lauten Done all a little too Primary for my liking (Kalvos and Damien are Nonpop artists and Lauten appears to be associated with the nonpop scene). Verify please!
- Gilbert Biberian Done 24 Preludes for Guitar seem very well-known in Guitar world but I only found one useful page to source him. Any more?
- Huib Emmer Done but not much (and in Dutch) might also be in New Grove according to Google books
- Jacques Castérède Done but needs better sources
- John Webb (composer) Done but not great
- Mary Ellen Childs Done Grove or ODM would consolidate this. Clear notable.
- Roy Douglas Done RVW's personal assistant is clearly notable. Must be in Grove, ODM etc?
- Kim Kuusi Done though he appears to be a jingle writer and eurovision songwriter only. Any more?
- Liu Shueh-Shuan Done but marginally. Obviously notable, though
- Sherif Mohie El Din Done but needs far more: he's more noted as a conductor it seems
- James Di Pasquale Done not much beyond NY Times filmography and IMDb as ELs.
- James Erber Done not much beyond primaries here
- Jay Alan Yim Done and he seems to have taught Mark Engebretson according to this. That composer appears to need an article if a quick "Mark+Engebretson"+%2Bcomposer+-wikipedia Google is trustworthy. Update - I found a few sources finally but they're not brilliant. If anyone PRODs, I won't dispute it... --Jubilee♫clipman 15:39, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- Mark Engebretson article now (re)created. I'm still putting it together but he does seen pretty notable actually both as a classical sax player and as a contemporary composer. I'll alert you all on the talk page then I've finished it. --Jubilee♫clipman 15:12, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- Joel Garten Now deprodded and sourced. Needs verification.
- Lev Konov Now deprodded and sourced. Needs verification.
- Stephen Montague Article needs expansion: see its talk page
- John Woolrich BBC Composer of the Week in 2008: needs checking out
- Hans-Jürgen von Bose but the article is a horrible mess
