MCB Director Vote Pages

On this page, members may nominate themselves or others for the MCB coordinator. Said person would be responsible for coordinating the drafting and posting of the monthly newsletter and maintenance of the the Article Improvement Drive and MCB Portal. In addition, a director would be in change of imagining new ways of recruiting as well as any administrative tasks that might otherwise go undone. In short, they would responsible for setting the direction of the MCB wikiproject.

This is not a vote for the coordinator/director!. We will be accepting nominations only for a period of two weeks, ending on 1 October 2007. At the conclusion of the nomination period a new voting page will be opened, allowing us to choose among all available nominees.

Hi everybody, I think it would be useful for us to have an active coordinator, mainly as a point of contact for external organisations. At the moment, our rather anarchic structure, although all we need to work on Wikipedia, is a bit off-putting for people wanting to collaborate with our group. I've seen this with both Alex's Rfam project and Andrew's ProtenBoxBot project, both of whom chose to contact me directly by e-mail. I think having one named person who other collaborators could contact would help us forge links with the wider academic world.

If I was named as coordinator, I would continue my efforts to bring more people into contact with MCB, to aid us in expanding both our membership and our attracting input from outside groups. Tim Vickers 23:11, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
