The point?
editSorry stupid question but, apart from the fact thatyou as opposed to the original complimentor will give the barnstar, what is the point of this endeavour? Batmanand | Talk 14:20, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
- Ditto. I don't understand why you wish to become a "barnstar middleman"? --Quiddity 01:05, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
This is a duplicate of Wikipedia:A nice cup of tea and a sit down, and should be redirected to there. Thanks. --Quiddity 18:05, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
I agree
editYes, I agree, that was a stupid question, Batmanand. Maybe we can have no barnstar middleman but Wikipedia:A nice cup of tea and a sit down is too long a title and nobody knows about it. This page is on the Community Bulletin Board (see the Village Pump) and it has a easier and more recognisable title. Auroranorth 08:11, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- Hang on my question was not "what about WP:TEA? Isn't this just the same page?". My question was what is the point of this page? Batmanand | Talk 09:48, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- I think there's no question, it has the same goal as WP:TEA. It should be deleted. NCurse work 10:00, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:A nice cup of tea and a sit down is a long title and not many people would think to type in this when they want to compliment somebody. Auroranorth 11:20, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- 1. How is WP:TEA too long? 2. How is the name that you have picked (particularly with the exclamation mark) that much easier 3. Why don't you propose a name change to WP:TEA, instead of creating a totally new page that serves, as far as I and others can tell, no function not already covered by WP:TEA? Batmanand | Talk 14:33, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- It's just that nobody knows what Wikipedia:A nice cup of tea and a sit down is. Auroranorth 09:21, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- This month alone three people have left compliments at WP:TEA. Can I suggest we move the compliments on this page there, and leave a redirect to WP:TEA here? Batmanand | Talk 19:58, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- That's what I've been suggesting :) Besides, it's better to leave a compliment on the user's talkpage (or on the talkpage of the article they did good work at) in the first place. Trying to centralize them just makes it harder for people to find individual's compliments, and creates duplication. --Quiddity 20:19, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- Done. --Quiddity 18:14, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

What nonsense
editWhat nonsense! Five compliments in all, three of which compliment Fearless Vandal Foo Fighters. Excuse me, "vandal fighting", like the war in Iraq as re "terrorist", relies for coherence on knowing what a vandal is as opposed to the prejudices of a small set of self-appointed meta-trolls, and creates vandals in the same way the injustices of the "war on terrorism" creates terrorists.
At best, the reified list here will only create a campaign to Win a Pony and put "I was complimented more'n anybunny else" on one's grad school application, which will join the open culture of Wikipedia to the closed culture of the military industrial complex, destroying the former by the logic of closed systems.
Wikipedia is doomed by this reified rage and no Hundred Flowers campaign is gonna change this. Spinoza1111 10:33, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
