DNB00, DNB01, DNB12 biographies all moved to subpages at enWS
editTo inform the enWP community that the DNB works at English Wikisource have moved to be subpages of their respective works:
- s:Dictionary of National Biography, 1885-1900
- s:Dictionary of National Biography, 1901 supplement
- s:Dictionary of National Biography, 1912 supplement
Redirects are in place at this time. The pertinent enWS and enWP DNB related templates have all been updated to utilise the new links. If anyone sees other templates or components that need addressing then please let me know. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 10:54, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
DNB citations which do not use the custom templates
editThere are citations to DNB which use templates other than the custom ones like {{cite DNB}}:
- insource:/\{\{(citation|cite (book|wikisource|dictionary|encyclopedia))[^\}]*=Dictionary of National Biography/ — currently about 290 articles
There are also citations to the ODNB that are not using {{cite ODNB}}
- insource:/\{\{(citation|cite (book|wikisource|dictionary|encyclopedia))[^\}]*=Oxford Dictionary of National Biography/— currently about 600 articles
So if you have time on your hands perhaps you can work through some of them -- PBS (talk) 09:05, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, @PBS:, I do make replacements when I come across them. It is the kind of operation that might annoy some people, but perhaps that is less common these days. "Time on my hands" is a nice idea, but besides Wikidata work, I'm trying to get the digitisation finished of s:Alumni Oxonienses: the Members of the University of Oxford, 1715-1886, another big old reference work, and move references to it to {{alox2}}. - The numbers are currently still over 100 each (My searches kept timimg out at about 100). — PBS (talk) 22:30, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
