Question

I'm not a member of this WikiProject, but according to the article on Peter Corey he was a actor on EastEnders who played someone called 'Vic the Crusher'. However, I can't find any mention on the web. Is this true? smurrayinchester(User), (Ho Ho Ho!) 10:16, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

Adopting an article

Could I adopt the articles about the cast? (List of past EastEnders characters by year of exit and List of characters from EastEnders) even though they don't need improvement, I would still like to adopt them... is that OK? Trampikey 10:49, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Hi Trampikey - note that I just made a bunch of changes to List of past EastEnders characters by year of exit based on the books I have on the show. Let me know if you'd like any information from any of them (I have, sadly, pretty much every factual book on the show, even Public Secrets) Stephenb (Talk) 19:15, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

Characters' family members

Several EastEnders character pages have lists of family members, but each one seems to have a different layout. Can we work out a standard format for them all? For example, should we list names and put the relationships after them, or the other way around? Should italics and/or bold be used? I don't mind sorting them out so they are all the same... Sweetie Petie 14:40, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

I think it should be (using Ian Beale as an example):

With normal text for the relationship, and italics for the character's name. Also, the order should go: Father, mother, children, siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins, paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents. Is that ok with everyone? Trampikey 19:13, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Actually, can I suggest we order them this way: Father, mother, children, siblings, paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins.. as then we can add second cousins and so on to the end of the list? A few more questions: are we definitely grouping brothers and sisters under "siblings"? Will spouses go before parents? Step/half-siblings (etc) after siblings? What about ex-spouses, etc, should they also be included? Sweetie Petie 20:57, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Father, mother, spouse, children, brothers, sisters, paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins. OK? Trampikey 22:23, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
I do go on, don't I? :) Sweetie Petie 22:53, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
Just to mention: "half-brother" and "half-sister" are both hyphenated. Otherwise, keep up the good work :) Stephenb (Talk) 19:08, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, go ahead Sweetie Petie! (Note: Half-siblings can be included in "Brothers" and "Sisters" because the EastEnders families are so mucked up! Trampikey 23:51, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
Rather than adopt an article, can I adopt the family sections? :) Sweetie Petie 12:46, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

I don't have a problem with that... I am starting on pages for each family. There is already a crappy Beale/Fowler page (The Fowler/Beale Family) that needs finishing, and I am going to do The Miller Family soon. Trampikey 13:31, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

OK, one last go at the order:

  • Father
  • Mother
  • Husband/Wife
  • Son
  • Daughter
  • Grandson
  • Grandaughter
  • Great Grandson
  • Great Grandaughter
  • Brother
  • Sister
  • Nephew
  • Neice
  • Paternal Grandparents
  • Maternal Grandparents
  • Uncles
  • Aunts
  • Cousins
  • Great Grandparents
  • Great Uncles
  • Great Aunts
  • Second Cousins
  • etc.

Trampikey 16:00, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Here's what I think:
  • Parents
  • Grandparents
  • Great grandparents
  • etc
  • Spouse
  • Children
  • Grandchildren
  • Great grandchildren
  • etc
  • Siblings
  • Step/half-siblings
  • Uncles/aunts
  • Great uncles/aunts
  • etc
  • Nephews/nieces
  • Great nephews/nieces
  • etc
  • Cousins
  • Cousins once removed
  • Second cousins
  • Second cousins once removed
  • etc

I'm happy with that, but unsure whether groups like "siblings" should be used or separated into "brothers" and "sisters" Sweetie Petie 19:24, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Changes Need to Be Made

Hi.

I strongly oppose two of this Wikiproject's rules: it is 100% incorrect both grammatically and in general common sense to still use the present tense for characters that are still alive but have left. Why do you think that magazines, newspapers, and various other articles refer to, for example, Tracey-Ann Oberman as "Tracey-Ann Oberman, the actress who played Chrissie Watts, who was a fictional character on the BBC soap EastEnders" etc.? The fact is, she ceases to play this character. Chrissie Watts was a character in the past, hence why the past tense is used.

The second thing is about families. Rather than making things unnecessarily long like father, mother, brothers, sisters etc. I propose the following order under the family section of each biography: parents, grandparents, (great-grandparents), (great-great grandparents), spouse (NOT ex-spouses, since they are not family, are they?!), children, (grandchildren), (great-granchildren), (great-great children), siblings, (uncles and aunts), first cousins, (all other first cousins (i.e., first cousins once/twice/thrice etc. removed, then all second cousins, third cousins etc. in numerical order).

What do you say?

I like your idea about the family order thing, and agree with your point on ex-spouses, and I definitely agree with the bit about past tense. Past tense should be used because the character was in the show but isn't anymore, therefore they were a character in EastEnders, making the statement "Alfie Moon was a character in EastEnders" true. However, "Alfie Moon is a character in the fictional world of EastEnders" is also true, but as he is no longer in the show, Alfie is a past character, and that's how we should write these pages, as we are talking about things seen on screen, not things that happen after a character leaves the show. Anyone else agree? Trampikey 03:17, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
I'll just do whatever the WikiProject page tells me to do. I do agree though, it's better this way. Not sure why the present tense was being used for past characters but I did my best to keep it all in line... now I'll do my best to put it back the other way! :) Sweetie Petie 01:20, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Spoilers

Sweetie Petie, I know you mean well, but if people want spoilers, they can go to sites that were made to provide spoilers. I know it isn't against the Wikipedia rules, but the spolier tags here are hardly noticeable and people may not want to read about who is going to die. Please could you wait until after the event has happened to add it to the articles? Thanks Trampikey 03:15, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

I wasn't adding the spoilers, I was just adding the spoiler warnings and correcting the grammar. I'll leave it to others to decide it the spoilers should be there or not. Sweetie Petie 00:47, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Oh, OK then, sorry, my mistake. Well, if you see any more spoilers could you please get rid of them? Thanks a lot!Trampikey 15:36, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Sure, I'll delete them if I come across them. To be honest I have seen a few on here that I didn't want to see but without warnings I didn't know they were spoilers! But I will delete them now. Sweetie Petie 19:24, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Wicks Brothers

Who are we assuming are their fathers for our articles, because there are lot of conflicting views. I am of the personal opinion that Simon Wicks' father is Kenny Beale and David Wicks' father is Pete Beale, does everyone agree? Trampikey 03:43, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

The only thing I know is that according to this page, Simon's father is Brian Wicks and David's father is NOT Pete Beale. Sweetie Petie 00:54, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
AH HA! I just found this! Brian Wicks is the father of both. Which is what I always assumed until I became a Wikipedian! (Although one page says Brian was Pat's first husband and the other says he was her second!) Sweetie Petie 01:14, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
According to the family tree on the official site, David Wicks is the son of Pat and Pete Beale. And also, we know Simon Wicks was adopted by Brian Wicks (hence the ironic nickname "Wicksy"), and Simon emigrated in 2000 to live with his real dad Kenny Beale in New Zealand. (Which is why Steven Beale also had to go and live with his real dad in New Zealand), so I think we should go on the basis that Kenny Beale is the father of Simon "Wicksy" Wicks, but he was adopted by Brian Wicks, and David Wicks is the son of Pete Beale. Any objections? Trampikey 15:35, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
Ah yes, the official site seems to have a lot of conflicting information. I can agree with you about Simon although I don't personally remember any information about him being adopted etc, but as for David, I'm not sure as the official website says different things in different places. Sweetie Petie 19:24, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
I just think we should go with Simon being Kenny's kid, and David being Pete's, as the family tree (which is probably one of the most recent things regarding the Wicks brothers) says that David is Pete's son... Trampikey 09:57, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
The family tree on the official site also say Pete Beale is the father of Donna Ludlow so I'm not sure how accurate some other parts of the tree are... Sweetie Petie 16:50, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
OK, first and foremost, Donna Ludlow is definitely not Pete's daughter. Her birth mother, Kathy Hills, was raped by a Marcus Duffy at the age of fourteen and she gave up the resulting baby (Donna) for adoption.
Secondly, the parentage of the Wicks brothers has been fiddled around and messed with so much that the truth is impossible to find out. The most recent spokesperson has said that they must assume that Pete Beale is the father of David, and may be the father of Simon, despite Brian Wicks being described as the father to both of them.
Let's run over a little history: Pete Beale was married to Pat Harris. She had an affair with Pete's brother, Kenny, at a time we must predict was during both David's (the eldest) and Simon's (the youngest) births. The Beale marriage broke up and Kenny emigrated to New Zealand. Pat had a one-night stand or a short fling with Pete's best friend Den Watts shortly after they split up. It was believed that Den was a possible contender to be the father although he was eliminated back in the 1980s. Pat was then married to Brian Wicks, who has been stated to being the father of the pair.
Now, looking at this, it seems impossible to me that Brian could be the father, as he is Pat's second husband and they were married after the childrens' birth (despite the kids having his surname. We can safely assume that they were born David and Simon Beale but this was changed when Pat married Brian). This just leaves Pete and Kenny out of the original four possible fathers. If anything, Kenny is perhaps most likely to have fathered Simon, the younger sibling. However, to put a spanner in the works, I've read several times that Pat had an affair with a married man during her marriage to Pete — a man named Brian Wicks!
What do you think?
Cypriot stud
I think we should presume that Pete is David's dad (from the recent statement), and Kenny is Simon's dad (from the fact that Simon emigrated to NZ to be with him!) Trampikey 13:36, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
Pete is almost certainly David's dad (he left him the stall in the end) - when the "who was Simon's dad" storyline turned up, David's parentage was never questioned AFAIR. Both books EastEnders: 20 Years in Albert Square and EastEnders: The First 10 Years list Brian Wicks as Simon's dad (by an affair when Pat was married to Pete), which is what I remember from the story (although Pat was never completely certain!). Also, I don't remember Simon emigrating to be with Kenny, just leaving full stop. NB: The BBC web site calls Brian Wicks Brain so it isn't that accurate! Stephenb (Talk) 16:06, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
He emigrated off-screen in 2000 Trampikey 03:15, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
I remember him emigrating, but don't remember it being to live or even see Kenny Stephenb (Talk) 09:25, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

Pat told Simon that Brian Wicks was his father. It could have been Den, Kenny, Pete or Brian - but Pat told Simon that it was Brian. Whether she was lying or not is another matter!

There never seemed to be any contest over who David's father was, therefore we can assume it was Pete Beale.

The EastEnders official website can never be regarded as true fact, it has so many errors, it says that Pete Beale is Donna Ludlow's father, and used to say that Little Mo had two sons! BBC site - this doesn't even answer the question, and calls Brian "Brain"... Trampikey 21:53, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Little Mo/Kacey Ainsworth

Someone is repeatedly moving Kacey Ainsworth to "Soon to Depart" on List of EastEnders Cast Members, I just want to know if I have any kind of authority to stop this as I have adopted the article? I have given clear, rational, logical reason why she should not be in "Soon to Depart", but the mystery editor keeps moving her, and it's just a waste of my time! If the problem persists and I hae no authority to stop it, I'll just keep editing it back, but if there is any way I can stop it, I would really like to know! Thanks Trampikey 03:51, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

Maybe, you can refer this problem to an administrator. They should be able to help out. --Siva1979Talk to me 19:50, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Freddie Mitchell/Ben Mitchell

Just a question regarding these two characters (can't think of any others that might apply at the moment). They're being refered to here as Frederick and Benjamin, but I'm thinking they were just named Freddie and Ben. I probably am wrong, but is there any official confirmation? Sweetie Petie 19:42, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Freddie Mitchell is DEFINITELY Frederick, I'm not sure about Ben/Benjamin though maybe Stephenb can look it up in one of the books! :) Trampikey 09:55, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
Heh! Ben is the only name listed (in two books). I can't ever recall him being named Benjamin, but that doesn't prove anything (see how popular Jack is these days, which used to be just a diminutive of Jonathan)... We need to see the birth certificate :) Stephenb (Talk) 16:12, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
LOL well that's hardly going to happen, so should we just use Ben if we don't know for certain that it is Ben?

{{spoiler}} (we MIGHT find out when he returns this year) {{endspoiler}} Trampikey 03:17, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

I don't think we found out yet, did we? :S Sweetie Petie 17:23, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
No, I don't think so... I think he's just Ben, but I found out that Freddie is Frederick after Charlie's dad Frederick... Trampikey 21:41, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
I kind of assumed he was named after Charlie's father, but how did you find out for sure? Sweetie Petie 11:04, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
I remember Mo saying when she returned for Graham's trial, and also looked at the family tree and saw that Charlie's dad was called Frederick... Trampikey 11:18, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Images

I'm afraid we cannot accept the majority of images recently uploaded involved with this project. Most of the images tagged {{tv-screenshot}} are not screenshots. Please observe the guidelines on the upload page: most images found on the web cannot be used. A photograph featuring an actor is not the same as a publicity photography, which must come from a press kit (this information must be verifiable). The JPS 12:16, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

I had a feeling at least some of them weren't acceptable, but I didn't know what to do, so I did nothing. I've only ever uploaded one EastEnders image and that was removed after 7 days. Sweetie Petie 14:31, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
If it got deleted after 7 days, you probably forgot to tag it. Upload it again and tag it. Bear in mind though, if you want to claim fair use, it cannot be a decoration.

Barnstar

Can we have an Eastenders Barnstar? --{{subst:user|4836.03}} 16:06, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

And can it have Dot Cotton's face in the middle? Sweetie Petie 17:49, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
I was thinking of the Square Street sign. Is EETG still around? --Quentin Smith 12:34, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
Remember, we can't use a fair use image if we're going to use anything. I haven't seen EETG around for months, I was going to list him on the missing Wikipedians list but never got around to it. Sweetie Petie 14:56, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
Not watching the programme, I wouldn't know, but are there Eastenders "colors"? They do well on barnstars. And I'll list EETG as missing… --Quentin Smith 15:34, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
User:Jayjg said - "please read the instructions on top; under 1000 edits, edits very intermittently, and has been gone for under a month". Fair play. Is no longer classed as missing. --Quentin Smith 18:15, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
EETG's last edit was on 16 February, two and a half months ago. He only made nine edits this year. As for colours.... maybe grey??? You don't watch EastEnders??? How odd. Sweetie Petie 20:23, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Alex Coombs as Jake Jones

The List of characters from EastEnders claims an actor called Alex Coombs plays a character called Jake Jones. I have been unable to find any verification of this at all. Could someone please check? Capitalistroadster 11:27, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Neither name is listed on the IMDb... Sweetie Petie 12:04, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hs=tGv&hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&q=%22Alex+coombs%22%22Jake+Jones%22&btnG=Search&meta= --Quentin Smith 18:15, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Dates and Addresses

I don't mean to be picky, but... Can people please put full dates on the character pages of Birth and death, not just years, please. If you're unsure of the dates check the BBC website.

Secondly, I propose a page for every adress in Walford that is listed at the BBC. We will probably be able to beat the BBC on the amount of stuff we put up legitimately on the Programme, but no word-for-word copying of course. --Quentin Smith 12:33, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

Regarding addresses, I'd like to see a page listing all the addresses, with everyone who lived at that address, with dates they lived there, in chronological order. Certainly we wouldn't need one article for each address. Is that what you meant? Perhaps the list of residences in EastEnders article could be expanded to include this, and possibly renamed to "list of addresses in EastEnders".
Not too sure what you mean about the dates though. Sweetie Petie 15:07, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
Take a look at Courtney Mitchell. It says Duration 1997–1999, 2006–, Date of Birth 1997. We know at least from the BBC that her DoB is 12.03.97. Duration dates may also be fixable. As for the adresses, I agree, but major buildings such as The Arches that are not houses ought to have their own articles. --Quentin Smith 15:28, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
Where known, all dates of birth are given in full. If you see one that hasn't been completed and is available on the BBC website, please feel free to include it in the character's infobox.
It's possible that some buildings could have their own articles, but probably not necessary for all. Sweetie Petie 19:22, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Buildings and streets.

List of residences in EastEnders was moved to List of buildings in EastEnders. Please make this as such. If there aren't any already, articles can be made for:

--Quentin Smith 18:43, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

I think the list of buildings should include all the residences, listing who lives there currently, and who lived there previously, with dates. Other buildings probably do not require their own articles, as not much can be said about them, and should have separate sections on the list of buildings. Sweetie Petie 19:28, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
I've put a bunch of sections in the list of buildings article, which can be expanded with information on each building. I believe The Arches should have its own article. Others don't need them at the moment, but if they do end up being too long, then the longer sections should be moved into separate articles.
I've also redirected the list of roads article to Walford as all the roads are already listed there with plenty of information. Sweetie Petie 21:01, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. I don't really know how notable these buildings are. You might find Category:EastEnders Work in Progress useful. --Quentin Smith 18:25, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Article moved

Scarlet (EastEnders) on the grounds of it no longer being the E20.

The article now needs a major update. Also, Angie's Den should be merged into it and a redirect created, as it was E20, then Angie's Den and then Scarlet. Sweetie Petie 19:25, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
I've just merged the two - the article now needs expanding. Sweetie Petie 20:12, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Category:EastEnders Work in Progress

--Quentin Smith 12:16, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Things I've made.

Someone has also redirected The Arches (EastEnders) to the list of buildings, so maybe you might have to persuade someone that it's notable. --Quentin Smith 19:14, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

I've just made Category:EastEnders locations - you beat me to the EastEnders lists category! I think The Arches is ok where it is at the moment, actually. Sweetie Petie 19:38, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
Mm, it seems that they're a Project meber anyway. Maybe a "Storyline" category would be useful. There are a biiiiiit too many articles in the Category:EastEnders. The Category:EastEnders characters is getting too big, it may need recategorising by family. Quentin Smith 06:19, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
The characters category is fine how it is, those family categories are awful, and if I knew how to get rid of them, I would! Trampikey 10:11, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
See also my comment on Category talk:EastEnders families Trampikey 10:18, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Agree with Trampikey. Can we WP:CfD these categories? "Eastenders storylines" was another category I was considering creating as we 5 articles we could put in it. I think we should put things to a vote before we go ahead and make major changes. We're all members of this WikiProject and we should all agree on what happens. Sweetie Petie 10:57, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
I think we should WP:CfD the categories (Category:Allen, Category:Beale and Category:Fowler. Can you do it Sweetie Petie, because I don't know how to!? Trampikey 13:36, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
See below for my response to the proposed Category:EastEnders storylines Trampikey 13:36, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Also, I just thought; why do we need Category:EastEnders Work in Progress? Is that not what Category:EastEnders stubs for? Articles to be expanded and improved? I think Category:EastEnders Work in Progress should be WP:CfD too... Trampikey 13:38, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Oh I don't know how to do CfD either, but I'll look into it. Sweetie Petie 13:50, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks! :) Trampikey 13:52, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Sweetie Petie, do you agree with my point about Category:EastEnders Work in Progress? Trampikey 14:04, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Yeah I think you have a point... Category:EastEnders Work in Progress is attached to Template:EastEnders project, so removing the category from the template will leave the category empty. Although I can sort of see the point in having such a category... but then again ALL EastEnders related pages are a part of the WikiProject.
Maybe we could have the categories speedily deleted so that non-members don't have to vote on it. We can empty the categories first and then I'll put the notices in the categories. Sweetie Petie 14:16, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Stubs are short articles! --Quentin Smith 14:19, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Vote: Creation of Category:EastEnders storylines

Agree, I think it's a valid enough category to create, and as we have 5 articles (with potential for more) that could go in this category, I don't see why not! Trampikey 13:34, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

(How many votes do we need and how long until we can actually make the category?) Trampikey 13:52, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
lol - don't ask me! We have 8 members so I guess if 5 people agree then we should do it. But personally I think we should just make the category, it's not really a major change like putting all character pages in family subcats. Sweetie Petie 13:59, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
I get what you're saying, but most of the members of the project are inactive! I say we should just make it! Trampikey 14:02, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Well, that was a great vote. Shall I do it or do you want to? Shall we vote?! Sweetie Petie 14:03, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
All done! Trampikey 14:11, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Agree --Quentin Smith 14:19, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Splitting Category:EastEnders characters

If not by family, how do we split this category? Comments suggested. --Quentin Smith 14:20, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Actually I had thought of doing the same as Coronation Street - having a subcategory for past characters. (see Category:Coronation Street characters) Sweetie Petie 14:28, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
OK - try it! I don't know if they're "Past Characters" or not - can you fix that? --Quentin Smith 15:19, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Let's see what Trampikey thinks first... Sweetie Petie 15:22, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Why does it need to be split? It's fine as it is sn't it? (And any Coronation Street articles are a bad example, they're all scrappy and bad apart from the main Coronation Street one!) Trampikey 23:05, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
I wasn't using Corrie's articles as an example, just the category... well personally I don't have a problem with the size of the category, so we can keep it how it is. I just wish it was easier to know when a new article has been made. Sweetie Petie 10:56, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
It is! When Gungadin makes a new article s/he never puts it in the right alphabetical letter, so it's always at the top in "*"... in future I'll post the new articles here in the "New articles" section, would that be good enough? Trampikey 11:20, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
Well sometimes (s)he does, I think. But normally by the time I find them, they've been put in the right alphabetical order. We should use the "new articles" section more, I'll certainly use it in future. I have a list of EastEnders articles I need to check that I go through when I have more time... I've never even read the main EastEnders article, something I MUST DO!!! Sweetie Petie 13:35, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
I have, it's quite good... I think it shuld be a featured article lol! Trampikey 13:51, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
Give me a chance to improve it first :) Sweetie Petie 15:04, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
I just spent nearly 2 hours (with breaks) reading and editing the main article... not that there was much wrong with it!!! Sweetie Petie 21:35, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Not that I think its that bad as it is, but the characters could possibly be split into regular and minor categories, or even a third category for semi-regular characters if it needed to be split further. So all the ones who only appeared for a few episodes go into minor characters list for instance, the non speaking characters could go in there too, like Winston and Tracey.Gungadin 15:41, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Hmm

This seems to have turned into a three person WikiProject. I wish EETG was here. --Quentin Smith 16:22, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

I know... well, Gungadin adds good content and The JPS is good with copyrights (also I like that we have an admin on the team), but it looks like without EETG it's just the three of us, really... And you don't even watch the show! Sweetie Petie 16:36, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
I wish I had more time to help you all... but you're all doing a great job, keep it up! Stephenb (Talk) 18:03, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Infobox

I don't know if anyone has noticed but on some of the character pages, I've moved the vertical bars in the infoboxes to the start of the line. This doesn't change the box at all, but it helps to preserve it when people add content to the boxes, as sometimes they remove the vertical by mistake; my change will avoid this happening. Can we try to keep the userboxes in this format from now on? Also, something seems to have changed on the EastEnders Character template, which means leaving a space between the infobox and the main article text leaves a space at the top of the article. I've removed the space on several articles too. Sweetie Petie 19:29, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I'll do that too from now on! The space thing is because some people (including me sometimes) hit return after the infobox and leave a line. Trampikey 20:08, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
Leaving a line between the infobox and the text didn't used to leave a space at the top of the articles, several spaces have just recently appeared! That's why I'm blaming the template! Sweetie Petie 22:01, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Blossom Jackson

What's the source for her living in Balham with Billy, Carol and Alan? Trampikey 19:06, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

No idea, but have added the {{fact}} template to the statement. Better to mention it on the talk page of the article rather than here, as a non-member of the project may have the source. Sweetie Petie 19:52, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi guys, I put that there, I got it from EastEnders: Who's who. It says Blssom returned from Israel and is living with Billy and Alan Gungadin 21:45, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Do you mean http://www.bbc.co.uk/eastenders/eastenders/characters/character_content/character_blossom_j.shtml? I can't see anything there.

No its a book by Kate Lock called Eastenders Who's who, it has biographical history of most of the EE characters giving info on them from before the show and what happened after they left. published in 2000 . It says " the hint of romance between Felix and Blossom remianed just that, and Blossom has since returned from Israel and is living with Alan and Billy" Gungadin 18:59, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

Can you put the citation in please? WP:CITE--Quentin Smith 07:42, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
I did it Trampikey 10:11, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Also, an extract of said book can be seen here, containing the information about Blossom. Trampikey 18:57, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Hassan Osman

The article credits Omer Mustafa Salih as the actor, but Ive got a book that says that actor played Little Ali Osman. Just wondered if anyone had a source to suggest that its actually Hassan. Sometimes these books get it wrong, so i thought id check.Gungadin 17:51, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Scroll down a bit... Trampikey 21:56, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Can people try to cite the BBC in these things? I can't find anything actual, but a good start point is here. --Quentin Smith 06:42, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Its difficult to know what to trust sometimes. Often these young actors are not even credited, so you have to rely on external sources. As for the BBC, they often get their facts mixed up. The book i read is a BBC book crediting Omer Mustafa Salih as 'Little Ali', but they give no name for Hassan, maybe because he was only in it for a few months, or maybe they've just got it wrong. Another book also suggests that Ted Hills first appeared in August 1985, but I cant find any evidence to suggest this is true, everything else on line suggests he first appeared in 1995. Gungadin 14:40, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

I found this link It credits Omer Salih as appearing in this episode in 1989, so he must have played 'Little Ali' Gungadin 16:01, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

It must be Little Ali then... apologies everyone! Trampikey 16:38, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Please go and vote to keep this article! Trampikey 16:13, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

I have voted, and added a source to the article. It is extremely important that we have sources for these future characters, so if anyone has any other sources, please add them too. Sweetie Petie 09:55, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

It just seems like Brookie has it in for us! He's nominated Madeline Duggan for AfD too... Trampikey 16:24, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Nonsense - just don't see the point of these articles - but it is a shame to see trolling in action ... --Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 07:10, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Freya and Phoebe Coltman-West and Alex and Tom Kilby are gone! Sweetie Petie 17:04, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

I know... can't they just be re-created? Trampikey 17:25, 2 June 2006 (UTC) EDIT: Spoke too soon, someone already did it... badly... I cleaned it up... Trampikey 18:20, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

They did Freya Coltman-West, so thanks for sorting it out. And thanks to The JPS for his little note on the talk page :) Sweetie Petie 18:46, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Kept due to no consensus. I will tag as future product. --Quentin Smith 18:02, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Infobox again

I got the lovely cds to help with this one. I was seeing too much "unknown" in the infoboxes, or blank spaces, so they've been made optional now (eg Gavin Sharp's dob is not known so now it doesn't show on the infobox). This means now we can take out all the "unknown" and "none" entries, which will make it look nicer. I don't mind doing that all myself. One question: what do you think of the infobox colour?? Sweetie Petie 23:38, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Oh no!

Sweetie Petie has been blocked indefinitely!! :( Trampikey 07:50, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Oh no! why would they block him? he doesn't valdalise. I hope they let him back Gungadin 12:06, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Apparently he's a sock puppet... this is awful, he's a great contributor! Trampikey 13:23, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm looking into it. I've unblocked him until I'm given a good reason not to. The JPStalk to me 13:40, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
After several hours digging, I've finally been given an explaination to as why Sweetie Petie has been permablocked. It seems pretty solid, unfortunately. It looks like he has been blocked for legal reasons due to a conversation by a user confirmed as him. The JPStalk to me 16:56, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

That's such a shame. Did they not take into consideration all the good work he's been doing? seems silly to lose a good editor.Gungadin 17:35, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
