This is the proposed naming convention on cuisines that has been percolating for some time, I would like to request all members to please take a look and comment on its talk page. Coordinators' working group

Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.

All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. Article alerts

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

... but no Outline of ice cream.

New articles for Vanilla ice cream, Strawberry ice cream, and Chocolate ice cream?

Why not? We have articles on butter brickle, mint chocolate chip, and rocky road, so why not articles on the big three? Especially since chocolate ice cream has no mention in the chocolate article. Purplebackpack89 (talk) 21:40, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

This project appears to be inactive, I am suggesting two things be done:

1. WikiProject Ice Cream be merged into WikiProject food and drink and converted to a task force
2. We rename it the Dessert Taskforce to broaden the subject beyond its narrow focus.

Name of this, uh, "group"?

I am seeing different names for this task force all over its page. Most instances of the name of this task force on the task force's page have included a space between the "task" and the "force", so I modified the header to reflect that. But is it the "Desserts Task force", the "Desserts Task Force", or the "Desserts task force"?WIERDGREENMAN (talk) 03:27, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

WP:BRR

In looking at the history of this redirect, it was orginally created in January 2007 as:

• #REDIRECT [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Cream]] {{R from shortcut}}

It was changed in December 2009 by @Jerem43: to:

• #REDIRECT [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Food and drink/Desserts task force]] {{R from shortcut}}

The "What links here" shows that the redirect is getting use as a variation of WP:BRD, i.e., "Bold", "Revert", "Revert".  I would like to change this redirect to be a redirect to WP:BRD.  I suggest that the existing uses for WP:BRR can be replaced with WP:BRR0.  Unscintillating (talk) 22:11, 12 April 2014 (UTC)

Choc ice

Should the article Choc ice include its alleged/occasional use as an ethnic slur? This editor thinks that it should not. I have no strong view at all, other than that I am always a bit concerned about the unexplained removal of referenced content, which is where this started. I can see arguments for and against its inclusion. I'm posting to both Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Discrimination and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Food and drink (and here!) about this. The editor concerned is now discussing it at Talk:Choc ice#Racism and it would be great if interested editors from these projects, or anywhere else, wanted to help reach a consensus. Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you?
