Metal Rat (Chinese: 庚子; pinyin: gēngzǐ) is the 37th combination of the sexagenary cycle of the Chinese zodiac. It is preceded by Earth Pig and followed by Metal Ox. In the traditional correspondence of the Heavenly Stems with the Five Phases, gēng (庚) represents yang and Metal, while the Earthly Branch zǐ (子) corresponds to the Rat zodiac.[1][2]
