The 1864 Kansas gubernatorial election was held on 8 November 1864 in order to elect the Governor of Kansas. Republican nominee and Union Army Colonel Samuel J. Crawford defeated National Union nominee and incumbent Kansas District Court judge Solon O. Thacher.[1]

General election
editOn election day, 8 November 1864, Republican nominee Samuel J. Crawford won the election by a margin of 4,467 votes against his opponent National Union nominee Solon O. Thacher, thereby retaining Republican control over the office of Governor. Crawford was sworn in as the 3rd Governor of Kansas on 9 January 1865.[2]
