1890 Western Reserve football team

The 1890 Western Reserve football team was the first football team fielded by Western Reserve University—now known as Case Western Reserve University—in the American city of Cleveland, Ohio, during the 1890 college football season. The team was also known by the name Adelbert. In its inaugural season, the team was completely shut out by opponents and outscored by a combined 0–82. Some notable players on the team included Billy Stage and Tug Wilson.[1]

The Wooster football team was the best team in the state of Ohio, defeating the 1890 Ohio State Buckeyes football team in its first ever home football game 64–0.[2]
