The 1989 British Speedway Championship was the 29th edition of the British Speedway Championship.[1] The Final took place on 21 May at Brandon in Coventry, England. The Championship was won by Simon Wigg, while Kelvin Tatum beat Alan Grahame in a run-off for second place.[2]

British Under 21 final
editMartin Dugard won the British Speedway Under 21 Championship. The final was held at Arlington Stadium, Hailsham on 11 June.[4] The 1989 British Speedway Under 21 Championship was the 21st staging of the Championship. The event also included race victories for eventual Speedway World Championship riders Chris Louis and Joe Screen.
