1992 Arizona State Sun Devils football team

The 1992 Arizona State Sun Devils football team was an American football team that represented Arizona State University in the Pacific-10 Conference (Pac-10) during the 1992 NCAA Division I-A football season. In their first season under head coach Bruce Snyder, the Sun Devils compiled a 6–5 record (4–4 against Pac-10 opponents), finished in a tie for sixth place in the Pac-10, and outscored their opponents by a combined total of 235 to 185.[1][2]

The team's statistical leaders included Grady Benton with 1,707 passing yards, Jerone Davison with 734 rushing yards, and Eric Guliford with 506 receiving yards.[3]

The team ranked 15th in Division 1-A in rushing defense, allowing 120.3 yards per game.[4] They also ranked sixth in total defense, giving up 268.8 yards per game.[5] With a 20–0 victory on October 24, the Sun Devils ended UCLA's streak of 245 games (dating back to 1971) without being shut out.[6]

In the annual Arizona–Arizona State football rivalry game, the Sun Devils trailed, 6-0, in the fourth quarter when Kenneth Galbreath ran 51 yards for a game-winning touchdown.[7]
