Grant teamed up with Nannie de Villiers and lost in the quarterfinals to Rika Hiraki and Alicia Molik, while Vento teamed up with Alicia Ortuño and also lost in the quarterfinals to Silvia Farina Elia and Iroda Tulyaganova.
