Tiebreakers for league ranking
editDifferent criteria are applied to determine the order of the teams in all rounds of the league depending on the state of the league.
While a league round is in progress, the order of the teams is determined according to the following criteria:
- The total number of points;
- Goal difference in all league matches;
- Number of goals scored in all league matches;
When a league round has concluded, the order of the teams is determined according to the following criteria:
- The total number of points;
- Number of points earned in head-to-head matches;
- Goal difference in head-to-head matches with away goals counted twice;
- Number of goals scored in head-to-head matches;
- Goal difference in head-to-head matches (with home and away goals counted the same);
If two or more teams are still tied after all the above criteria, a play-off match or tournament is organised to determine the order.[5][2]
