Season summary
editPre-season
editFollowing the historic 20th scudetto victory, on 22 May 2024, Suning relinquished control of its controlling stake in Inter Milan after it failed to repay the €395 million it owed Oaktree Capital Management, with the American firm taking 99.6% control of the club.[1] On 4 June, Inter shareholders approved the new board of directors, and CEO Giuseppe Marotta was named president of the club.[2] On 11 June, the club announced the contract extension for midfielder and vice-captain Nicolò Barella until 2029.[3] On 1 July, Inter bid farewell to Juan Cuadrado,[4] Davy Klaassen,[5] Alexis Sánchez,[6] and Stefano Sensi[7] as their contracts expired, as well as Emil Audero, who returned to Sampdoria after the end of his loan spell with the Nerazzurri.[8] On 6 July, Inter announced the arrival of Polish midfielder Piotr Zieliński on a free transfer from Napoli.[9]
