On 6 October 2024, a crowd crush occurred at Marina Beach, Chennai during an air show organsied by Indian Air Force(IAF) to commemorate the IAF's 92nd anniversary.[1][2][3]

An estimated 1.5 million spectators were said to be in Chennai to watch the air show, over the original estimates of 1 million.[4]
