Abhisheka (Consecration) (Sinhala: අභිෂේක) is a 2023 Sri Lankan Sinhalese language drama film directed by Sripali Hettiarachchi and co-produced by Maleesa Anne, Nishantha Jude, P.D. Mellon and P.D. Melanie for JJ Films.[1] It stars Mihira Sirithilaka and Dulani Anuradha in lead roles along with Jeewan Kumaranatunga, Nanda Wickrama, Ariyasena Gamage and Srimali Fonseka in supportive roles.[2][3] Music composed by Lal Ananda Abeydeera.[4]

Production
editThe film marked second cinema direction by Sripali Hettiarachchi after 2016 film Sujatha Puthra.[6] Apart from that, he has produced the television serials Pællama, Sithaṭa Nivanak, Kiri Ammā, Hiruṭa Rathu Palasak, and Bōpath Nilla.[4] Cinematography done by Sajitha Veerakperuma, still photography by Gitendra Liyanage, Sreethan Gunawardena and editing and color combination by Tushal Dasanayake. Assistant directors are Tharindu Ilangkorn, Indunil Deraniyagala, and Suganda Prasad. Tanushka Kahandawala made sound setup and administration whereas Sujith Lakmal made art direction. Randika Tishan and Tharaka Adhikari are the feature writers and Lasanda Gunawardena is the production manager.[2]
Music was directed by Visharada Lal Ananda Abeydeera and lyrics penned by music director himself with Ananda Padmasiri.[7] Wisarada Sandhya Bulathsinhala, Nivani Dedunu Sri, Drani Thatsara, and Umesha Sewwandi joined as background vocalists. Visharada Jananath Warakagoda rendered his voice for the theme music.[4]
Screening
editThe media screening of the film was held at Colombo City Center in November 2022.[2] The special screening was held at One Galle face PVR in April 2023.[1]
