Political career
editShe was elected to the Virginia House of Representatives in 2023 and took office in January 2024. Shortly after taking office, she proposed state legislation to implement single-stair reform as part of an effort to increase housing supply in Virginia. Current Virginia building codes require that apartment buildings have two stairwells, which raises housing costs without any clear improvements in safety.[5]
