Adewusi Olufemi Micheal (born May 11, 1979, in Agege, Lagos, Nigeria) is a Nigerian pharmacist with over seventeen years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, He has worked in pharmaceutical research, drug development, and quality assurance, and has held leadership positions in various pharmaceutical companies.[1]
Early life and education
editOlufemi is known for his contributions to pharmaceutical research and drug development.[2] He earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Career
editMichael's career in the pharmaceutical industry began shortly after his graduation. Over the years, he has held several impactful roles, including positions as National Sales Manager at Miral Pharm Limited and Business Development Executive at Zolon Healthcare Limited.[3]
As of 2024, he serves as the Technical Director for Innovations, New Drug Design, and Regulatory Systems at SEAL Healthcare Limited. In this role, Michael has been involved in developing over 12 innovative pharmaceutical products, including SITEX,[4] HEALBATIC,[5] and SENGRA-FORTE.[6] His efforts have contributed to improved clinical outcomes.[7]
Michael is also noted for securing multiple regulatory approvals for new drug formulations, ensuring they comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other industry standards. His role allows him to oversee cross-functional teams, driving projects from concept to commercialization in the pharmaceutical industry.[8]
Research contributions
editAdewusi has conducted research in areas such as the antibacterial efficacy of Origanum vulgare[9][10] and the anti-inflammatory properties of Dacryodes Edulis.[11] His research has focused on herbal pharmaceutical formulations.[10]
Community involvement
editThroughout his career, Michael has been involved in community health initiatives.[12] During the Ebola and COVID-19 outbreaks, he volunteered extensively to support affected communities. Since 2019, he has organized free medical outreach programs, providing no-cost medications to senior citizens.[13]
