Anne Chopinet (born 12 September 1953 Paris) is a French engineer. She is one of the first seven women to enter the École Polytechnique, in 1972. She was awarded the Legion of Honor.[1] and Ordre national du Mérite.[2]
Career
editShe studied at the Lycée Jules-Ferry, and scientific preparatory classes at the Lycée Condorcet.[3]
In 1972, she joined the École Polytechnique. Before that date, only men were admitted. One of the first seven women, and top of the class. She carried the standard of the School, during the Bastille Day military parade on the Champs-Élysées, in 1973.[4]
She then became an engineer in the Corps des Mines. She worked for four years at the Ministry of Industry, and four at the Ministry of the Budget, during the Jacques Chirac government. From 1986 to 1988, she was technical advisor to Alain Juppé. From June 1988 to 1991, she was the first female secretary general at CNES. She then worked for four years in the private sector, at Alsthom.[5] From 1995 until May 2000, she was technical advisor to Jacques Chirac .[6]
She chaired the BIPE, from 2002 to 2010. She chaired the Entreprise de recherches et d'activités pétrolières (ERAP). In 2016, she supervised oil and mining research at the Ministry of Economy.[6]
Today she is vice-president of Secours Catholique and president of Maison Bakhita.[7]
