Archaeological Society of British Columbia

The Archaeological Society of British Columbia is a Canadian organization founded in 1966. Since 1968, it publishes the quarterly The Midden, with help from the B.C. Heritage Trust. Its headquarters are in Vancouver, with bureaus in the provincial capital, Victoria, and since 1994 in Nanaimo. It has more than 300 members in Vancouver alone who aim to research and teach British Columbian archaeology and protect related artifacts. The Victoria bureau president is Pete Dady and the branch in Nanaimo, under Julie Cowie, publishes The Digger.[1]
