Arenga obtusifolia is a flowering plant of the palm family (Palmae or Arecaceae) and is native to Thailand, Malaysia, Borneo and Java.[2] Its most interesting feature is that it forms rhizomes up to thirty feet (nine metres) in length, forming colonies.[3]
