Balbharati is publishing integrated textbooks for Class I to Class VII. In this type of textbook all subjects are included in one book and that book is split into 4 parts according to unit tests. This decision was taken from the academic year 2023-24 to reduce load of school bags of students. Also after every page a blank page is added so that students could note down some important points, new word & their meanings, etc as per guidance of their teachers.

The Institute

edit

The institute was established by the Government of Maharashtra on 27 January 1967. This was as per the recommendations of the Kothari Commission. This is to improve the quality of textbooks for Stds. I to VIII, and to make textbooks available at a reasonable price. Balbharati institute is an autonomous body registered under the Public Trusts Act 1950 and the Societies Registration Act, 1860.

edit

Since students are not getting textbooks even after schools start, Balbharati put up soft copies of all its textbooks on its website, from where they can be easily downloaded. The e books from first to tweleth standard are downloadable from the website of Balbharti.[3] Currently the books are available in eight languages — Marathi, English, Hindi, Urdu, Kannada, Telugu, Sindhi and Gujarati. 35 books titled My District for Std III Geography for each district in the state are available on the website. Balbharati had published class XI and Class XII new syllabus from 2019-20 and 2020-21 respectively.

Baal Bharti Official Website

edit

In the year 2023, the main website of Bal Bharti balbharati.in is no longer the website of Bal Bharti. Balbharati provides e-books through its second portal ebalbharati.in. This website serves as an important resource for students across the state, providing access to PDF files of textbooks and storing important information. A conspiracy has been taken to fraudulently take advantage of the brand reputation of Balbharati. Transfer action has been taken by an unknown person in his name.[4]
