Benjamin Wyatt Szerlip is an American orthopedic surgeon who authored the book titled ''Comprehensive Orthopedics: A Modern Approach''. He specializes arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and elbow. Szerlip is also cofounder of the Austin Shoulder Institute.[1][2][3]

editHe graduated from Mt. Vernon High school and received his bachelor's degree in biology in 2004 at The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio and received his post baccalaureate training in clinical research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. Szerlip then received his Medical Degree in 2009 from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency in 2014 at University Hospitals Regional Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.[4]
Research
editSzerlip authored several research publications and book chapters, focusing on shoulder replacement technologies, and arthroscopic rotator cuff tear repair. His work has been presented at national medical conferences, contributing to the understanding of innovative shoulder surgeries. He has also served as a reviewer of manuscripts for orthopedic journals.[5]
