editThe board came into existence in 1991,two years later of the split of combined Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Peshawar for the entire province. It is located in Kokrai, on the marghazar Salampur road Swat.The board aims to be one of the best boards in the country and in the world whilst maintaining a cheating free environment while conducting exams;But there have been numerous cases of cheating reported by local media outlets from time to time.[citation needed]
