Bregje Hofstede (born 1988) is a Dutch journalist,[1] columnist and writer.

Career
editHofstede studied art history and French in Utrecht, Paris and Berlin. She writes for various newspapers and literary magazines, including a column on "New Feminism" for De Correspondent. Bregje Hofstede is co-founder of the feminist action group De Bovengrondse (in English: "The Aboveground").[2][3]
Her debut novel De hemel boven Parijs (German title: "Der Himmel über Paris"), published in 2014, was nominated for several literary prizes (including Libris Literatuur). Libris Literatuur Prijs,[4] Anton Wachterprijs, Gouden Boekenuil) and translated into Danish and German.[5]
Her second book, the essay collection De herontdekking van het lichaam (German title: "The Rediscovery of the Body"), was published in 2016.
Her second novel, Drift (German title: "Verlangen"), was published in 2018 and was shortlisted for the prestigious Libris Literatuur Prijs.
In Slaap vatten (German title: Schlaf finden), her latest non-fiction book, the author deals with the phenomenon of sleep(ing).
