Brijmanganj is a town in Uttar Pradesh, India, situated at the point of western Maharajganj district and the border of Siddharthnagar district.[1]It is named after a british landlord Johnhall Brijman.During British raj it was well connected grain market.
History
editBridgmanganj was accorded the status of Town Area Nagar Panchayat in 2020. A well-known local attraction is the Lehra Devi temple, which is 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) away from the town. There are numerous villages in this block. One of the most popular and well educated is Barihari on the western side near Sidharth Nagar border. It was founded by Pran Singh, a thakur(Rajput) who converted to Islam.This village has given Engineers( IITian : Javed Ahmad Khan ISM Dhanbad, Shahbaj Khan IIT Roorkee, Shahnawaj Khan ISM Dhanbad ,Deepak Maurya IIT Guwahati NITian: Sarfaraz Ahmad NIT Surathkal Karnataka. This village also given Professors,Scientist and GST officers.) Nepal MP Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan belongs to this village. Village is populated by Muslim Chaudhary and other caste.
Bridgmanganj is connected to the rail link to the Gorakhpur, Gonda, Lucknow, etc. stations. The town has now recognized as Nagar Panchayat by the state government. The order was passed by the former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on the recommendation of Syed Arshad who is a very senior leader and former State Minister
