Coming out of high school, Calhoun was rated as a three star recruit, where he held offers from schools such as Kentucky, Boston College, Rutgers, Duke, Connecticut, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Michigan and Duke.[1][2] Initially, Calhoun decided to commit to play college football for the West Virginia Mountaineers.[3][4] However, after pledging his commitment to the Mountaineers, Calhoun flipped his commitment to play for the Cincinnati Bearcats.[5][6] However a few months later, Calhoun decided to de-commit from the Cincinnati Bearcats.[7][8] Ultimately, Calhoun made his final decision to commit to play college football for the Michigan Wolverines.[9][10]
College career
editMichigan
editDuring Calhoun's first collegiate season in 2023, he appeared in just two games where he recorded no statistics for the Wolverines as he won a National Championship with the team.[11] After the conclusion of the 2023 season, Calhoun decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.[12][13]
Utah
editCalhoun decided to transfer to play for the Utah Utes.[14][15] After starter Kenan Johnson went down with a season-ending injury in week one of the 2024 season, Calhoun entered the Utes defensive back rotation.[16] In week three of the 2024 season, Calhoun got his first collegiate interception in a win over the Utah State Aggies.[17]
