editIn 1148, the emirs of Iraq organised a campaign against both the rule of Sultan Masud and the Abbasids.[1] Eldiguz, the ruler of Azerbaijan Atabegs, Emir Bahaeddin Qoywser, Emir Kargur, Emir Il-Tegin, Tarintay al-Mahammadi, Hajib Tatar, Alp Kush Gun-Khur participated in the campaign.[2][3][4] A clash broke out between the emirs marching to Baghdad and the Abbasids. The emirs were victorious and entered Baghdad. They officially put Baghdad to the sword. Then the Caliph and Sultan Masud fled Baghdad.[5]
