Carrè is a town in the province of Vicenza, Veneto, Italy. It is east of SP349.
Geography
[edit]Carrè is located at the foot of the Venetian Prealps and the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities, where the Val d'Astico opens onto the foothills of the Province of Vicenza.
The municipal territory is partly flat and partly hilly, extending west of the Bregonze Hills. It is crossed by the valleys of Tavani, Spillare, Tassi, and Vaccari. The Igna stream rises within the municipality.
Most of the territory is cultivated, with the exception of several small wooded areas between Zavagnin Hill (293 m) and Rua. These woodlands are populated mainly by black locust, willow, and ash trees, while hornbeam and black locust are found to the north-east of the town.
The municipal water supply is managed jointly with the neighbouring municipality of Caltrano. Water is supplied from the Piesan spring, located in Caltrano on the left bank of the Astico River, and from a well situated in the industrial area.[3]
Culture
[edit]Education
[edit]Carrè has a private, state-recognised preschool, as well as a public primary school and a public lower secondary school.[4]
The municipal seat is home to the Civic Library, which is part of Biblioinrete, the network of libraries serving the Province of Vicenza and most of the libraries within the Vicenza Library Network.[5]
