An audio game is an electronic game in which auditory output serves as the primary or only element of the game that the player responds to. Audio games are comparable to video games except that where video games rely on video output for game-player interactions, audio games rely on audio output. Just as video games typically contain audio components as well, so too do audio games often contain video components, however to be considered an audio game it is required that the player be capable of playing while exclusively using the audio portions of the game.
