The Teck-Cambridge family was a morganatic branch of the House of Württemberg descended from Duke Alexander of Württemberg and his wife Countess Claudine Rhédey von Kis-Rhéde. Prince Adolphus of Teck and Prince Alexander of Teck renounced their German titles in 1917 and changed their surname from Teck to Cambridge after their grandfather Prince Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge.
