Splitting this List

edit

I think this list should be split up to reduce the chance of confusion. Currently, the Mosin-Nagant sits in the same list as the M14. This is unacceptable if this list is based on ammunition (which it is). The former uses 7.62x54mmR (R stands for Rimmed not Russian) while the latter chambers 7.62x51mm NATO (commonly referred to in America as .308 Winchester). Furthermore, the M1 Garand and the M1 carbine need to be taken off of the list because they do not chamber a .308 round; it chambers .30.

This may not seem like a huge deal to some people, but 7.62x51mm NATO and 7.62x54mmR are two different bullets and thus deserve their own lists, just as 7.62x39mm has its own list.

Finally, if this list is to be based off of the 7.62x51mm NATO, the title should also include .308 Win or .308 Winchester. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Belac Athanasius (talkcontribs) 20:00, 30 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
