The Maldives was not a member state of the Commonwealth of Nations from 1965 to July 1982.

The Maldives withdrew from the Commonwealth in October 2016, therefore the British Government will appoint an Ambassador instead of a High Commossioner. - (119.224.80.18 (talk) 23:09, 18 October 2016 (UTC))
