Category talk:British Solomon Islands

History category

I think this does deserve a history sub-cat (currently Category:History of the British Solomon Islands) for 1893 to 1975, but the current structure is both incomplete and repetitive. One option might be abolishing the Years in BSI categories, and just keeping Category:Decades in the British Solomon Islands. The BSI years categories are probably not needed for the British Empire hierarchy, as the SI categories for relevant periods could be placed directly in the British Empire hierarchy; but perhaps the C19 and C20 BSI categories might be usefully kept for the BE hierarchy.

Another option would be to rename the Solomon Islands categories up to 1975 to British Solomon Islands, and removing duplication.

  • @Marcocapelle: Thanks, that is indeed a start. Perhaps Category:Years_of_the_20th_century_in_the_British_Solomon_Islands could be added to the nomination? Then the upper categories of the hierarchy would become empty. 1890s to 1960s, and 1970 to 1975, in Solomon Islands could be placed directly in the History of BSI category, and in the relevant British Empire cats. – Fayenatic London 14:11, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
