Opposed speedy move request
edit- Category:Television programmes on Yes (Israel) to Category:Television shows on Yes (Israel)
- Category:Television programmes on Channel 2 (Israel) to Category:Television shows on Channel 2 (Israel)
- Category:Television programmes on Channel 10 (Israel) to Category:Television shows on Channel 10 (Israel)
- Oppose the three above. Since we're already fixing these, then these 3 Israeli categories should be changed to follow Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2020 January 22#American television series by network which means "<network> original programming". Also the article are Channel 2 (Israeli TV channel) and Channel 10 (Israeli TV channel). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gonnym (talk • contribs) 10:38, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Gonnym, Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2020 January 22#American television series by network only applied to American series. All the other subcats of Category:Television series by network use other formats. I support for applying the "<network> original programming" format to all countries, but that will need a full discussion. Please can you withdraw the oppose so that these can proceed, without prejudice to any further renamings? I will then open a full CFD for all the subcats of Category:Television series by network. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 11:30, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
- That's like me saying that all your nominations here aren't valid as the original nomination didn't cover them. The only reason I did the US in that batch was because it was the biggest. There is nothing different between these categories, only the country and nothing ENGVAR about it. I'll note that another editor and myself also commented on this in your TV show CfD. --Gonnym (talk) 11:36, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Gonnym, WP:CFD/2020 May 6#Television_program(me)s was an attempt to include as many possible categories while avoiding proper names. I have since gotten better at using Petscan, so if I did the job again the list would be more comprehensive ... but there was no attempt to exclude any type of topic. By contrast, the January 22 CFD was a set wholly from one country. There's nothing wrong with that, but the community may want to take a different view on other countries. I personally think that "<network> original programming" is a good solution globally, and I hope that there won't be any variations, and so I will support renaming them all ... but I don't think it's speediable.
Please note that I am not opposing anything, and I have offered to do the followup work to the Feb CFD ... so please, can we work together to get the outcome we both want? --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 12:16, 5 July 2020 (UTC) - Sure. It just seems a bit disruptive to move and remove. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gonnym (talk • contribs) 12:22, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Gonnym: Doing the moves to "shows" as a first step ensures that even if the full CFD doesn't go the way we want, these are are at least partially fixed. That's why I was hoping that you would withdraw the oppose. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 12:59, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
