Hello, just a question from a french user : how do you use this category ? When the personnality has one of his grandparents spanish, he can be categorized here, or you find a source which say he is ? Thanks for answering.--Sammyday (talk) 14:12, 7 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

@Sammyday:
Hello,
There are to my knowledge no criteria about the number of degrees in descent nor the number of relatives required to justify the presence of persons in such categories. However, since WP:CATEGRS does not state how to proceed concerning ethnic descent,[1] except with the general comment that all categorizations should be verifiable (meaning: a source must exist), the guideline about biographies should apply, which explains that "Ethnicity, religion, or sexuality should generally not be in the lead unless it is relevant to the subject's notability. Similarly, previous nationalities or the place of birth should not be mentioned in the lead unless they are relevant to the subject's notability."(WP:MOSBIO) The same goes with descent in categories. You might also be interested in reading WP:DUPCAT or the 2015 talk at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Categories/Archive_5#Category tree for Ethnic Greek people vs. Greek people. for example. Does that address your concern? For further inquiries, the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Categories may be of more help.darthbunk pakt dunfT
