Observation I don't object, but not every head chef in a Michelin starred kitchen is leading the pack. In big kitchens, there can be an executive chef plus a head chef. And the Michelin stars are awarded to the chef that leads the kitchen (In fact it is the restaurant/chef combination that gets the star, but it is awarded to the restaurant) The Bannertalk21:37, 29 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
I understand the challenge with making this category name as precise and unambiguous as possible. I believe this can be adequately addressed by the shorter name and a description at the top of the category page laying out the above explanations provided by The Banner and Miyagawa. I think this is a very valuable category, so hopefully this solution will work for everyone. - MrX00:31, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps the best way to go is with the new name, but then in the category description it could add chef patrons as well - that way it makes the inclusion criteria quite precise (it would become chef patrons, head chefs and executive chefs). Miyagawa (talk) 11:06, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
That I ask this because I know, from prior work on ENWP, that there are a lot of chefs who have earned their star(s) abroad. I even know of one chef who earned stars in two countries. It is not because I object to your proposal, but it can be a bit tricky. The Bannertalk09:55, 16 September 2023 (UTC)@Another Believer:Reply
