I propose to move the present category to a new more adequate name: Ottoman Empire by geography. The notion of categorizing parts of Ottoman empire with today's political geography, today's countries, makes no sense whatsoever. It makes a lot of sense to categorize by geographical area as defined by the bibliography. --FocalPoint (talk) 20:17, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Disagree. Why would we do that? We would not be able to define all such "geographical areas" or clear borders between them and attempts of definition of these areas or their border would trigger countless nationalistic POV disputes in Wikipedia among users from various countries. In fact, article Ottoman Greece is very good example of such nationalistic dispute due to the fact that it does not discussing history of present-day Greece in Ottoman period, but history of some fictional geographical area named "Ottoman Greece", which in hidden form of Megali Idea serves the goal of supporting modern territorial claims towards neighboring countries.
