Number of insect food companies
editThe 2016 book "Insects as Sustainable Food Ingredients" lists 122 organizations globally classified along axes "food", "feed", "consumer products", "farming" and "advocacy".[1] A one-pass count (Table 5.4) suggests 107 organizations produce food, of which 86 produce food for consumer purchase. The 2018 book "Edible Insects in Sustainable Food Systems" notes that as of 2017 there were 28 "North American companies marketing insect products to consumers".[2] --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 02:45, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
That's very interesting! How about adding these informations into the articles insects as feed, insects as food and maybe insect farming. AlienFood (talk) 12:04, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- @AlienFood: Could do that, but my primary focus was in noting the potential for this category. I'm doing some editing in this topic space as a secondary to looking at Crik Nutrition from a wikiproject:companies point of view. Most of my editing in the encyclopedia is around companies, with a focus on pharma, publishers and interesting technologies. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:16, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
