After starting this category I was not looking forward for a long and slow build-up of it, adding a name or two each time, but to my (glad) surprise I find it well stocked with names from the order's start to the modern era. I myself am not an enthusiast of knights or such things; my motive for starting this category was to balance the overflowing of its (older) sister category Knights of the Garter, I hate for somebody to think that only the English have knights, but to tell you the truth the joke was on me because one of the first names added to this category was that most famous Englishman: The Duke of Wellington! And to add insult to injury it was I who added his name.
What should we do about the fact that since 1700 there have been two separate Orders of the Golden Fleece - one Spanish, one Austrian? john k12:44, 11 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
