Obviously there's a great deal of crossover between this cat and Category:Lists of cities by population . I came here looking for lists of cities by population and by country (grouped on a page by country, sorted or sortable by population). I didn't even know about the other one until I found an Indonesia page not indexed here that is indexed in Category:Lists of cities by population.
Seems to me there should be a Category:Lists of cities by country and population (or by country sorted by population, if the dual meaning of by is too confusing). Then add that cat to this cat and Category:Lists of cities by population, and situate all the garden-variety "Most populous cities in ________" in that subcat. Make sense? It seems to me that some articles in this "Lists of cities by country" are actually "Lists of cities by population" of respective country. 85.217.45.223 (talk) 02:23, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
