What should be the scope of this cat?

edit

This cat is currently used on various Israeli settlement on the West Bank, say Oranit.

Alas, the text only mention Israel, nothing about the occupied territories. We have two choices:

  • remove this cat from all settlements on the West Bank, or:
  • change name of this cat, in order to include Israeli settlements on the West Bank.

It should contain all Israeli local councils, and therefore needs renaming to Category:Local councils (Israel), which would also bring it in line with the main article Local council (Israel). Number 57 23:42, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Oranit is a bad example since it straddles the line and much of it is outside of the West Bank. That being said, the cat is for the local government type which is the same inside and outside of the West Bank. Israeli local councils will resolve the issue here.Icewhiz (talk) 07:09, 9 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Israeli local councils would imply a local council in Israel, at least to anyone not steeped in the history of Israel/Palestine. Not good enough. Israeli local councils in Israel and the occupied territories would be cumbersome, but correct. We could also (perhaps) only use local council. Huldra (talk) 22:04, 9 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
As "Israeli settlement", the adjective Israeli does not imply any particular location - it does imply governance by Israel. A simple "local council" would not work as local council has different meanings in different places - including in Jordan.Icewhiz (talk) 00:06, 10 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
I second this. Simply having "Israel" in the title is not the same as explicitly saying "in Israel". The alternative proposal seems to be point-making rather than solution-finding. Number 57 09:21, 14 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
