Proposed revision to categories and subcategories of Moravian Church

edit

I'm in the process of cleaning up and extending Moravian Church, as discussed on Talk:Moravian Church, and need some new categories. Trying to figure out where to fit these in led to the following proposal. It accommodates all existing and planned categories and articles.

The numbers indicate the hierarchy and are not part of the category name (but could be used after a "|" to force the sort order).

A number ending in 0 indicates where article names should appear. There should be no article names at any other level.

While the structure seems sound, some of the category names may seem long winded. The reason is that to any one not "in the know", the term "Moravians" must mean "people from the Moravian ethnic group" - a problem that appears to be unique to this denomination. To avoid ambiguity (and possible conflict should ethnic Moravians ever wish to stake their claim), the category names below almost all use a construction that includes the words "of the Moravian Church" in preference to "Moravians".

The big question is: Are these names going to break any of the many other category groups that "Moravians" currently appears in?

The only way to find out is to try it. I'll be changing one thing at a time, slowly and carefully so as not to break anything. It may take some days... -Arb. 13:23, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

It might have been better (simpler, shorter) to use the reverse form of category name shown below, but I'm too far along to change it now! -Arb. 16:44, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
