Huaiwei removedcategory:Mainland China from this category with the edit summary "Removed redundant cats.". Could you please tell in what way it is redundant? Thank you. — Instantnood 19:32, Mar 30, 2005 (UTC)
I removed ALL classifications of administrative subdivisions or the PRC from both the PRC and Mainland China cats, if any. The only ones I left on the front PRC or China cats are for the two sars, for obvious reasons. As far as we can, cats are supposed to be as uncircuitous as possible. That so many of them are linked to Mainland China for some reason is just unfortunate.--Huaiwei 19:41, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)
How should autonomous regions, provinces and municipalities categories be linked to category:Mainland China then, in your opinion? — Instantnood 19:53, Mar 30, 2005 (UTC)
Why should they be linked? Well if you really think its neccesary, perhaps create your own hiearacy of "Administrative divisions of Mainland China" and so on and so forth? I dont know how many people thinks that makes sence thou. Whatever the case, the categories look much less messy now, with all administrative subdivisions consistently filed. The China, PRC and mainland China cats are less cluttered too.--Huaiwei 20:00, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)
These are places in mainland China aren't they? — Instantnood 20:04, Mar 30, 2005 (UTC)
They are also places on Earth. Shall we classify them according to planets next? I am simply loosing patience with your lack of constructive comments around here!--Huaiwei 23:24, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)
We all know which places are on Earth, unless specified that they're extraterrestrial. Wikipedia is always a POV from human on Earth, or at least, from Earth.
If mainland China covers those places, why they can't be categorised other mainland China as well? — Instantnood 07:04, Mar 31, 2005 (UTC)
Because it's a redundant to place it in two vertical categories, particularly a POV one. SchmuckyTheCat 07:12, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Precisely. If there is a need to classify them under Mainland China, then there is also a need to classify them under the PRC. I need to be convinced why we need them appearing in three categories then, when the removal of both would simply give us a much cleaner category system.--Huaiwei 07:44, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)
When people get into category:Mainland China, would they be looking for information about specific locations within mainland China? — Instantnood 10:05, Mar 31, 2005 (UTC)
When people get into category:People's Republic of China, would they be looking for information about specific locations within the People's Republic of China?--Huaiwei 10:32, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)
