Categorization
editI'm wondering about categorization of articles about musical instrument manufacturers. There exist subcategories of Category:Musical instrument manufacturing companies such as Category:Clarinet manufacturers. Reading Wikipedia:Categorization and subcategories it seems as though arguments could be made in favor of moving such articles into the relevant subcategories -- or of duplication, listing them in both the parent category and the subcategories. My feeling is that, at least in the case of companies like The Selmer Company that have made a large number of different instruments, this would be counterproductive: the result would be to put the articles into far too many categories. On the other hand, such an argument clearly would not apply to a company like Jj Babbitt that makes only a few kinds of instruments (or in this case, mouthpieces for a few kinds). Should one-instrument companies, few-instrument companies, and many-instrument companies be categorized differently? And if so, what should be the dividing line between "many" and "few"? -- Rsholmes 15:38, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
By nationality?
editCan we make a subcat for companies by nationality, as we have for the instrument makers category? Badagnani (talk) 19:38, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
