I would like to request that we change the name of this category to "European Travellers" or maybe "European Traveller ethnicities". The term "gypsy" has a really loaded history as a derogatory term, particularly against Romani peoples. I know there are some organizations that use the term, and some individual Travellers who identify with it, but it should be thought of as similar to the term "Indian" in reference to the indigenous peoples of the Americas; a term with a lot of contention around it which may not be appropriate for the tone of an encyclopedia (at least not as a primary designation). I know that there are also many jurisdictions in Europe where "gypsy" is a legal term, but I think this is not something which is generally looked upon fondly by most of the members of these groups. The main entry on Roma people has a section which talks about the contention around the usage of "gypsy".2601:7:7E00:611:7995:B025:5392:6A5B (talk) 05:28, 16 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
