Category talk:Palladian Revival architecture

This Palladian Revival architecture is unnecessary,"Palladian" is not a revival style as it is in itself a "revival" of Palladio's work.  Giacomo  07:07, 24 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I see we don't have a Category:Palladian architecture (I thought we did) perhaps we ought to found one and redirect this page to it. All buildings inspired by Palladio's work are Palladian rather than "revivial."  Giacomo  07:48, 24 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

edit

I propose moving the category to Category Palladian architecture. This is because Palladian architecture is only loosly based on the concept of Palladio, Palladio himself did not invent Palladian architecture or work in that style. Hence, Palladianism is not a revival style, but a form of architecture popular from between roughly 1645 to 1760. It's popuarity was interupted by Baroque and Rococcco, but it ever really went away, untill from about 1760.  Giacomo  14:46, 25 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
