Naming

edit

Can someone explain the reasoning for the inconsistent naming of Polish monarchs? I've noticed several types of naming, such as

Boleslaus I of Poland

which has "of Poland" but does not give his agnomen "the Brave". Then there's

Boleslaus II the Bald

which has the agnomen but not "of Poland". Then there's

John III Sobieski, King of Poland

which has his last name instead of an agnomen (fair enough, since I don't believe he has an agnomen), but then it has "King of Poland" instead of "of Poland". Then we also have

Wladislaus I Herman of Poland

which has the agnomen and "of Poland", but finally there's

Zbigniew of Poland

which has "of Poland" but does not have a number (presumably "I"). Perhaps we should pick something and stick with it. I realize that this will require some effort. I propose we use the first name, followed by a number, followed by either the agnomen or the last name, e.g. Jan III Sobieski or Boleslaus I the Brave.
