I propose that this category be renamed 'Coastal settlements in East Riding of Yorkshire' for naming consistency and future navigation. 82.38.63.64 (talk) 19:16, 6 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have recently started using the new template for navigating between adjacent coastal settlements kindly created and made available by User:Yarnalgo. I have put these in place for 'County Durham' and 'North Yorkshire' and the 'East Riding of Yorkshire'. The template works fully for the first two counties but is not working fully for the East Riding. If you want to see one fully working try Seaton Carew.
To work fully the template requires the existance of either of these pages:
List of coastal settlements in <<county name>>
Category:Coastal settlements in <<county name>>
Because the relevant Category exists for 'County Durham' and for 'North Yorkshire' then the templates work fully for them.
The template will not work fully for the East Riding for a second reason, and that is that the paramenter |place should **NOT** (repeat NOT) be Wikilinked - and it was my fault that it happened. I have corrected this for Bridlington as a test case but have not altered it for any other East Riding coastal settlement as it will not make any difference. If the decision is made to go ahead and rename the Category to: Coastal settlements in East Riding of Yorkshire then the Bridlington page will start to work fully. It then needs someone to correct the rest (Sewerby to Easington) next time they are in there. Then again I might do it. Stuffed cat (talk) 20:26, 13 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
