Category criteria

edit

The criteria for this category should be stated clearly in the category text. I was trying to do that when the cat was protected, but unfortunately I got confused between "public" and "publicly-funded" — partly because the cat is in fact the latter, while the PMA source discusses the former. Here is what I suggest to put before the note: "Articles in this category relate to broadcasters that receive funding from the public, directly or through their government." 67.180.143.89 (talk) 22:51, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'd sorta like to delete this category, just to mess with Elon Musk. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 17:19, 13 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Support because messing with Elon Musk is ontologically good. Stuart98 ( Talk Contribs) 21:21, 13 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Inaccurate Note

edit

The sources cited for this statement "Though publicly-funded broadcasters may receive support from government sources, they are not necessarily government-funded" don't support it. I looked into the sources and could not find anything supporting this. I request we remove this until better sources are found. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.235.111.85 (talk) 00:04, 17 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Note: I rewrote it for clarity; there is a lot of potential for confusion with the terminology here, but it should be more readable this way. I also added more relevant sources. Actualcpscm (talk) 15:30, 17 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. --Pinchme123 (talk) 02:58, 18 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Remove 'TVNZ' from subcategories list. @Rhoward23: If you want to do that, then this isn't the right location. You should take it up at Talk:TVNZ and the TVNZ article if you wish to have it be removed. Articles in categories are not managed here, but in their individual categories. This page just maintains and lists them. If this is confusing, then review Help:Category and Wikipedia:FAQ/Categorization as those pages can explain it better than myself. --Super Goku V (talk) 23:27, 22 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
